AANBIEDING: • Deelnemer se naam, van, tak en streek, word op ‘n toegevoude papier agter die A4 skryfstuk met ‘n kleefbandstrook vas geheg. • Die skryfstuk moet in ‘n A4 plastiek lêersakkie aangebied word. BLOMME - BLOMME IN ‘N BOKS VEREISTE: • Rangskikking moet binne in ‘n boks wees. • Die boks kan enige vorm wees. • Plantmateriaal moet in water of waterhoudende medium geplaas word. Tensy sodanige plantmateriaal vir die duur van die geleentheid vars sal vertoon buite water nl. Vetplant, kaktusse, lugplante, mos, ens. • Maak seker dat die houer waarin die plantmateriaal is nie water lek nie. • Die boks en inhoud mag nie die toegelate spasie van 75cm by 85cm oorskry nie. • Gebruik twee derdes van jou spasie. • Sorg dat hulpmiddels soos oases of tape nie sigbaar is nie. MACHINE WORK: TRIANGULAR PURSE IN PATCHWORK REQUIREMENTS: • Patchwork must be made (no printed patchwork material allowed) • Must be lined. • Must have a zip. • Must be triangular. SIZE: • Stay with the right size 10cm and 12cm. • Must be in proportion. HINT: • Make use of your machines built-in decorative stiches. • To shrink zipper, pour boiling water over it. • Wash and shrink all textiles. • Grading the corners to prevent bulkiness. EMBROIDERY MACHINE WORK: 6 COASTERS REQUIREMENTS: • Images can either be uniformed or different as long as they form a unit. • Embroidery must be well planned. • A set of 6 Coasters. • Any shape. • Design must be suitable for materials and thread. • Use machine- or internet motifs. • Take care of the correct proportions in relation to size of article • Make use of good quality stabilisers. • Trimmings are limited to 10%. • No lace for edge finish. • NO CORK OR FELT UNDERNEATH. • It can be lined but must be finished with machine embroidery stitch. PRESENTATION: • Display it on a board covered with felt. HINT: • Keep edge finish the same to form a unit. HAND EMBROIDERY: SPECTACLE–CASE (GLASSES) IN RIBBON EMBROIDERY REQUIREMENTS: • Use fabric that is fit for the article, e.g. Cotton and Linen. • Needles – Crewel, chenille and tapestry needles. • Make use of clasps, button etc., BUT NO VELCRO. • 20% embellishments are allowed. • Size: To fit any size spectacle (glasses), e.g. your sunglasses or prescription glasses. • The ribbon stitches must be completed with dainty additional embroidery stitches. • More than 75% ribbon embroidery. HAND KNITTING - DOG JACKET REQUIREMENTS: • You can use any yarn, needels must be suiteble for yarn. • Own pattern choice. Avoid patterns with a lacy pattern. • Three sizes: Small - Yorkie / Chihuahua, Medium - Pug / Fox terrier, Large – Pitbull. • Two to three colours can be used. No variegated yarn is allowed. • Any Style • Don’t use too many pattern stitches. • Finished work should be neat. • Fasteners: Velcro, press studs, buttons etc. CAN BE USED, but not necessary. • 10% Embellishments. CROCHET: A GILET FOR A LADY REQUIREMENTS: • Size: For a lady. • Use different colours or one colour, but NO VARIEGATED yarn. • Long sleeveless overcoat – under the buttocks, calf or ankle length and open at the front. • Any style, e.g. Plain, Blocks or MadaIions. • Fasteners are optional. HANDCRAFT – ALCOHOL INKWORK REQUIREMENTS: • Glazed Ceramic plate. (Available from West Pack). • Any shape plates. • Not bigger than 30cm X 30cm (12” X 12”). Hint: • Copic Ink obtainable from PNA • Use 91% rubbing alcohol BAKING – DIABETIC DECORATED CHOCOLATE CAKE REQUIREMENTS: • No suger should be used. Replace sugar with e.g. Sugalite etc. • Single layer cake. • Cake should be decorated for diabetics. • 50% - Cake and 50% - Decoration. • ONLY DECORATE THE TOP, DO NOT DECORATE THE SIDE. • Resept must be attached. • Only chocolate to be used for decorating. MICROWAVE – BROWNIES REQUIREMENTS: • 6 on plate. • Size: 5cm Length X 5cm Width X 2,5cm Height. • Recipe must be attached. • Nuts, biscuit crumbs e.g. Tennis biscuits etc. may be added. SWEETS - 6 X TOFFEES REQUIREMENTS: • Toffee Size: 4CM LENGTH X 2CM WIDTH X 1CM THICKNESS. • 6 X Toffees equally thick and sized, wrapped in cellophane, in a container. • Toffees should be fresh when displayed. • The colour will depend on the type of toffee variant and the flavouring used. • No crystal formation may take place. • On maturing, toffees become softer but remain tough. (Sticky) BOTTLED - PICKLED CUCUMBERS REQUIREMENTS: • MUST BE BOTTLED IN A 375ml JAR, CRAZY PLASTICS / WEST PACK. • Cucumbers must be bottled whole. • Bottle sealed tightly. • No visible whole spices in jar. • Bottle should be filled with vinegar 10mm from the top. HINT: • Use quality vinegar, e.g. grape vinegar. • Cook spices in a sachet. • Dull vinegar will not preserve pickles enough and product will become tasteless. • To strong vinegar will make pickles to soft. • Use white vinegar. • Make pickles a month or two ahead of time to ripen. • Store in a cool place. PHOTOGRAPHY - TEXTURES IN NATURE REQUIREMENTS: • Size: Jumbo • Only colour photos are allowed. • No manipulation in photos, e.g. by adding or removing something from the original photo. • Photoshop e.g. to play with colour or Crop a photo is allowed. MOUNTING: • Mounting MUST be A4. • Any colour of mounting board can be used. PRESENTATION: • Photo must be in an A4 plastic file pocket. • Your name, surname, branch and region on a folded paper and must be placed at the back of the mounting with adhesive tape and not on the plastic file pocket. ART – ABSTRACT PAINTING ON CANVAS REQUIREMENTS: • SIZES: MUST BE 3 CANVASES OF (12” X 12”) 30cm X 30cm EACH, NOT 1 BIG CANVAS • Chalk paint must be used. • Any method or style can be used. • All 3 Canvases must form a unit. WRITING – THEME: THIS MAKES ME ANGRY... REQUIREMENTS: • Type or write your writing on an A4 paper in “Arial or Calibri” Font size 12, in singlespace. • Words: 350 – 400 words. • Know what you are writing about. • Do your homwork before you start wrinting, with good introduction, highlight and conclusion. • Indicate the number of words used at the bottom left of the page, e.g. 355 words. • Sentence construction and language use are important. • Punctuations does not count as words. PRESENTATION: • Participant’s name, surname, branch and region, to be attached on a folded paper and attached at the back of your A4 writing with adhesive tape. • Writing must be presented in an A4 plastic pocket. FLOWERS - FLOWERS IN A BOX REQUIREMENTS: • Arrangement to be in a box. • The box can be any shape. • Plant material to be in a medium that holds water, unless plant material will stay fresh outside of water for the duration of the show. i.e. succulents, moss, air plants and cactus. • Make sure that the container the plant material is in does not leak water. • Box and design must be within allotted space of 75cm by 85cm, only two thirds of the space may be used. • Make sure that any aids, i.e. oasis and tape are not visible.
